1 THESSALONIANS INTRO
1 Thessalonians, one of Paul’s earliest letters (circa AD 50–51), encourages the young church in Thessalonica to remain steadfast in faith, love, and hope amidst persecution. Paul expresses gratitude for their faithfulness, defends his ministry among them, and recounts his longing to visit them while acknowledging Satan’s hindrance. He sends Timothy to strengthen their faith and rejoices in their spiritual progress. The letter exhorts believers to pursue holiness, love one another, and live with integrity as they anticipate Christ’s return. Paul provides comfort about the fate of deceased believers, assuring them of resurrection and eternal hope, and concludes with practical advice for daily Christian living and readiness for the Day of the Lord.
